Airline Visions and Aeropodium Partner with Gulf Centre for Aviation Studies

Airline Visions, LLC and Aeropodium have partnered with the Gulf Centre for Aviation Studies in Abu Dhabi, UAE to offer a seminar on ‘How to Start an Airline’ on March 15, 2012. GCAS, a wholly owned subsidiary of Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC), will sponsor the event providing access to a world-class facility in Abu Dhabi.

Seminar participants will be introduced to the challenges and opportunities impacting the global aviation industry as well as strategic initiatives leading to successful business operations. In addition, the seminar will concentrate on how to start an airline ranging from “dream” stage to day one commercial operations. Participants will learn the process of building and implementing a successful business model and be able to take away key factors learned through trial and error by other start-up airlines.

‘How to Start an Airline’ Seminar Met with Great Success in London

Airline Visions and Aeropodium, sponsored by Gates and Partners, held a successful seminar on, ‘How to Start an Airline,’ in London, UK on October 21, 2011. The event was attended by a diverse group of participants seeking to learn more about the challenges and opportunities associated with the global aviation industry as well as learning the process of starting a new airline.

Dr. John Wensveen, President of Airline Visions, hosted the seminar speaking on a variety of topics including the strengths, weaknesses, challenges, and opportunities of the airline industry. He also gave a detailed presentation on airline business plan development. The primary guest speaker was Antonis Simigdalis, former President of the European Regions Airline (ERA) Association, past CEO of Olympic Air, and co-founder of Aegean Airlines. Additional guest speakers included Carole Blackshaw, Gates and Partners, and David Fisher, AON.

Airline Visions, LLC and AeroPodium have formed a commercial partnership to promote and deliver high-level seminars to the global aviation industry commencing with ‘Airline Business Plan Development: How to Start an Airline‘. The seminar will kick-off in Washington, DC on October 5, 2011 followed by deliveries in London, UK on October 21, 2011, Hyderabad, India on March 13, 2012, and Dubai, UAE on March 15, 2012.

Seminars are marketed and coordinated by AeroPodium, a London-based conference and business networking firm. Airline Visions, LLC will offer seminars in “How to Start an Airline” commencing late 2011. Seminars will be delivered on a world-wide basis alongside major aviation conferences and exhibitions. The one day seminar concentrates on how to write an air carrier business plan, how to write a capital raising plan, how to recruit the start-up management team, how to acquire suitable aircraft, and how to manage the certification process. Drs. Rhett Yates and Carol Dole join Airline Visions, LLC as Senior Consultants

Dr. Rhett Yates is an Associate Professor at Jacksonville University where he teaches in the graduate and undergraduate aviation programs. Dr. Yates earned his Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Lynn University. He earned his MBA from LaGrange College and his Bachelor of Science in Aviation Management & Flight Technology from the Florida Institute of Technology. Dr. Yates is a certified FAA pilot holding a commercial certificate with multi-engine instrument rating as well as advanced ground instructor rating.

Dr. Carol Dole received her Ph.D. (economics) from the University of Florida. She also holds an MBA from the University of Cincinnati. Dr. Dole’s undergraduate degree (BS/Journalism) is also from the University of Florida. She currently teaches principles of macroeconomics and microeconomics and enjoys teaching statistics and sports economics.
